M42 - Orion Nebula

Image below was taken with a modified Digital Rebel through Orion ED80 Refractor with Televue .80X Reducer. The ED80 was mounted on an Orion Atlas EQ-G mount. The EQMOD ASCOM driver was used to drive the mount directly via an EQDIR interface module.

 

Equipment used:

Temperature was 6 degrees Fahrenheit. Skies were clear and turning cloudy with the nearly Full Moon rising. PHD Guiding software was used for autoguiding. The webcam software WcCtrl was used to enable long exposure modes on the Logitech Fusion webcam while autoguiding.

 

M42 - Orion Nebula:

36 one-minute exposures at ISO 1600 were combined in Images Plus using Adaptive Addition.
