M65, M66 & NGC 3628 Galaxies

Images below were taken with a modified Digital Rebel through Orion ED80 Refractor with Televue .80X Reducer. The ED80 was mounted on an Orion Atlas EQ-G mount. The EQMOD ASCOM driver was used to drive the mount directly via an EQDIR interface module.

 

Equipment used:

 

Temperature was 22 degrees Fahrenheit and skies were partly cloudy. PHD Guiding software was used for autoguiding. The webcam software WcCtrl was used to enable long exposure modes on the Logitech Fusion webcam while autoguiding.

 

B33 - Horsehead Nebula:

30 three-minute exposures at ISO 1600 were combined in Images Plus using Adaptive Addition.

Full Frame Image was cropped on edge and reduced in size.


M65, M66 & NGC 3628 Galaxies:

35 three-minute exposures at ISO 1600 were combined in Images Plus using Adaptive Addition.

Full Frame Image was cropped and reduced in size.
