Cherry Springs Dark Sky Park

Deep Sky Images taken with a modified Digital Rebel through 20 inch Starmaster Alt-Az Dobsonian with GOTO Skytracker and autoguided using a modified Philips Vesta webcam. A Denkmeier 2 inch OCS was used to reach focus. No infrared block filter was used. All images were taken using ISO 1600 and are full frame:

Milky Way - 9/7/05 - Cherry Springs:

This image was taken with a Canon 10D digital SLR camera (non-modified) using a Sigma 18-55mm zoom lens. Camera settings were ISO 1600, 2-minute bulb exposures, f /4.0 and 18mm. The camera was used unguided on a Meade LXD55 equatorial mount. The image is a panorama of two images made with the software Autostitch and each image is a stack of four 2-minute exposures:
