Collins I3 Image Intensifier Eyepiece Images - PN NGC 40:

Dave Barrett has been observing often with a Colins I3 image intensified visual eyepiece on his 24" Tectron. It works quite well on planetary nebula, allowing real time visual views that are similar to those of CCD images. Using my Olympus C2020Z digital camera we tried some imaging of planetary nebula. Hand holding the camera and the drift of the 24" dob made imaging difficult, so we attached the I3 eyepiece to the C2020Z camera using a camera adapter and took some images with my 20" Starmaster guided with its GOTO Skytracker. Here are some results:
