M33, Flame Nebula & NGC 891

Canon 10D & Meade LX200 at f/6.3

This was the first time that I used the Canon 10D digital camera for deep sky imaging with my 10" LX200 scope. All imaging with the 10D had been done in the past with a 20 inch Starmaster GOTO dobsonian. Images were taken with the LX200 from my backyard deck observatory in Conyngham, PA. Skies were slightly hazy and moderately light polluted along with neighbors having bright Christmas light displays and also some Moonlight. The cold temperatures into the 20's Fahrenheit allowed for some no-noise imaging with the Canon 10D. A Celestron f/6.3 focal reducer was used for the exposures which were short and unguided. NEAT IMAGE was used for noise reduction. All images are full frame.
