April 1, 2001 - Eckley PA

Air-cooled Olympus C2000Z Digital Camera - 20" GOTO Starmaster Telescope

by Gary Honis

Ambient temperatures dropped to freezing overnight which allowed for low noise in 32 second exposures with the air-cooled Olympus C2000Z digital camera. Image were taken using a 31mm Nagler eyepiece coupled to the digital camera with a televue digital camera adapter. Sky conditions were hazy with a rising Moon and high clouds for the M64 images. The comet was very low and stiff winds were a problem.
