Comet L4 PanSTARRS: 55 Images of the comet were taken with a Peltier Cooled Full Spectrum Modified Canon Rebel T2i (550D). Temperature of the peltier cooled camera was about freezing allowing for low-noise imaging with the DSLR. Telescope used for imaging was an Astro Tech 127mm ED APO Triplet refractor at prime. The Astro Tech 127 and ED80 refractor guide scope were mounted on an Orion Atlas EQ-G mount. The EQMOD ASCOM driver was used to drive the mount directly via an EQDIR interface module. All images are Full Frame.

Peltier Cooled Full Spectrum Modified Canon T2i (550D) with 127mm Triplet at Prime. 55 six-minute exposures at ISO 1600 were combined using DeepSkyStacker using the "Comet Stacking" mode. Autoguiding was on the comet nucleus. The image is a composite of the DSS Comet stack and a six minute exposure at ISO 1600 autoguided on the stars to use as the star field. Reduced in size to 1200X770 pixels.

Mohawk Moe the Mangey Bear:
A pesky bear with mange was hanging around the observing field during the day at Cherry Springs on May 6. He was put down three days later so he won't be attending the star party.
