This was my second time out with the air-cooled C2000Z. On October 21, 2001 the Orion Nebula (M42) was imaged at Cherry Springs State Park, PA with a low ambient temperature of 41 degrees fahrenheit. With my 20 inch GOTO Starmaster, M42 was too bright to allow using the 32 second exposure trick that makes use of spot metering. The brightness of M42 caused spot metering to set the exposure at less than 16 seconds, so I set the camera to a fixed 16 second exposure length using a trick discussed earlier on this site.
